THE AUTHOR / THE QUESTIONS / THE RETURN

The mind of
Frank Crow.

“An alter ego could just be the forgotten original.”

Maybe the name is new to you. The voice behind it may be the one I stopped making room for.

LISTEN BEFORE YOU SPEAK. REMEMBER BEFORE YOU JUDGE.

THE FORGOTTEN ORIGINAL

What if you’re
remembering yourself?

I’m drawn to the gap between who we are and who we learned to perform. The dependable one. The tough one. The one who never needs anything. A role can help us survive and still leave parts of us unheard.

For me, “the forgotten original” is a question worth sitting with. Which parts were growth? Which parts were protection? Which parts of yourself are you ready to give a voice again?

You can respect what got you here and still question what gets to lead you next.

THOUGHTS I KEEP RETURNING TO

Open a thought.
Keep your own judgment.

These are perspectives to examine. You get to decide what holds up in your life.

01IDENTITYWho were you before you learned to shrink?
An alter ego could just be the forgotten original.

We call it becoming someone else when a person finally speaks without apologizing for every word. But what if that voice was there before approval became the price of belonging? Frank Crow is the voice asking that question. The Echo is the place where it can be explored: the self you edited to get through life may still have something to say.

SIT WITH THISWhat part of yourself do you only let out when nobody is watching?

02PEACEDistance can give you quiet. What happens when you return?
I don’t think it’s really protecting your peace when you say you do it by staying away from people and the world.

Sometimes leaving is necessary. A boundary can protect something worth keeping. The question comes later: is that distance helping you recover, or has avoiding every difficult conversation become the whole plan? I’m interested in a peace you can carry into a room, with the freedom to leave when you need to.

SIT WITH THISWhat would help you feel steady beyond the place where you hide?

03TIMEBlaming time is a guaranteed way to waste it.
The clock is an easy suspect. It never gets to defend itself.

People do not carry equal workloads, resources, or responsibilities. Some days are survival. Still, there are moments when I say I have no time because admitting what I’m postponing would cost me an excuse. The useful question is smaller than fixing my whole life: what deserves the next ten minutes I actually control?

SIT WITH THISWhat keeps getting your attention while your priority keeps waiting?

04FREEDOMTrying to buy something you own.
Everybody wants freedom. What are we willing to carry with it?

Money can buy options. That matters. But if every choice still needs somebody else’s approval, a bigger balance will not make those choices for us. Freedom asks me to own the consequence as well as the possibility. I can want independence and still be afraid of being the person who has to decide.

SIT WITH THISWhose permission are you waiting for—and what responsibility comes after it?

05LOVECan you define what you’re asking someone to give?
People just want to be loved. But can we define love selflessly?

Being wanted feels good. Being understood asks more of both people. I want to question the moments when we call something love because it gives us access, reassurance, or control. Care has to leave room for another person’s needs and their no. That question belongs to me before I point it at anybody else.

SIT WITH THISCan your definition of love make room for a boundary you didn’t choose?

06FEAR & LEGACYRecognition is where the work begins.
Do not mistake recognition for understanding.

Zion Crowe can be recognized by the First Seal and still have to learn what that means. That tension runs through my thinking too. Seeing a pattern does not automatically break it. Knowing where a fear came from does not make the next choice easy. What we inherit becomes a question about what we will carry forward.

SIT WITH THISWhat have you recognized in yourself that your next choice could begin to change?

THE STORY. THE PHUCKERY. THE SAME QUESTIONS.

Why I write
the way I do.

The Echo Chronicles puts these questions inside a story: Zion, his family, a seal that answers, and a legacy he does not yet understand. I want the mystery to keep you turning pages—and the choices to stay with you after you close the book.

Pure De’ Phuckery gives everyday contradictions a name. Sometimes the phrase makes you laugh before the thought makes you uncomfortable. “Currently Phucked” can name a situation without turning it into your permanent identity.

AWARE. ADAPT. AMUSE.

Notice what is happening. Consider what you can do. Leave room to laugh without pretending it doesn’t hurt.

THE ECHO OATH / THE STANDARD I RETURN TO

Something to carry.

  1. Listen before you speak.
  2. Remember before you judge.
  3. Carry before you command.
  4. Choose before you blame.
  5. Leave the world lighter than you found it.

The words are simple. Living them is the part that keeps asking something of us.

Frank Crow

At the end of the day… life’s full of phuckery.
